Kath Powell was born in the West Midlands, England, formerly known as Staffordshire; when asked her actual date of birth, Kath generally replies: I'm between 20 and 50, it's my in-between period. Kath has a deep love and appreciation for local history, and is totally fascinated by both architecture and antique furnishings of English Historicity. She and her husband Steve can often (as circumstances permit) be seen on weekend or holiday excursions to many of these historical sites throughout the British Isles. This very pleasant and undemanding lady took a solid interest in art by the tender age of 8 and would practice drawing images from many of her favorite story books, most of which were executed in pencil; because like many an artist before her, she had difficulty grasping the rather difficult comprehension of working in color. Her interest in the realm of Fantasy Art blossomed not too long after her sketching period began, and many of her drawings centered around such subjects as Faeries, Elves, Trolls and subjects related to sword and sorcery. The age of 17 became a pivotal point in Kath's life, for this was the age at which she met her 'soon-to-be' husband Steve, and the era when through meeting his parents, Kath was introduced to many additional forms of beautiful art (Steve's father was an art teacher). This introduction was her first real opportunity to notice the beautiful quality of oil paintings, and the use of color began to peak Kath's interest.

Kath's husband became her major encouragement as he was the first one to really appreciate her early drawings. He was never overly critical and thus he became her source of true encouragement. Kath's love for art soon became her true passion, (well, aside from her hubby, she says with a coy smile). The more she practiced the more her work improved, and the better it looked. As she was so enraptured with the love of her craft, she never even gave serious thought to selling her work, she was simply having too much fun to worry about any form of commercial application.

A true turning point in Kath's life took place when she won a computer through a newspaper competition, She was immediately fascinated by this electronic marvel and soon began exploring all things computer. Approximately two years after winning hers, the interest increased to such a degree that she purchased a whole new, more powerful system, which also culminated with her first introduction to the Internet. It didn't take her long before she began applying her artistic skills to the computer, learning HTML and other coding skills that allowed her to begin designing Web Pages and like her drawings, Kath was self taught even here. Today, Kath can code and design with the best of them!

With the Internet at her disposal, it was only a matter of time before she stumbled across computer generated art, and when she did, a whole new world of her private art-dreams was opened wide to her. After some research, Kath discovered two key pieces of software, Poser and Bryce, after purchasing both, she was soon on her way to producing her own computer generated works of art – most of which were again – influenced by her love of Fantasy. She now has a full 10+ years of experience behind her, but has graduated from Bryce to Vue . Kath’s art doesn’t really look like anyone else’s – it has grown to be uniquely her own in both style and content.

Through the use of a few tutorials she has found on-line, and a personal interaction she has developed with other artists, Kath has begun to exhibit a more advanced knowledge of her tools and skills, which is evidenced with every new render she turns out. Now an interest in marketing her work has begun to take hold as many have expressed an interest in owning one or more of her works of art. It won’t be long before prints, posters and graphics of her imaginative art will be proudly gracing the walls of astute collectors and lovers of art everywhere.
